Annapolis, Md. -- Hospice of the Chesapeake has announced Paul W. Davies, M.D. of Annapolis to be the organization’s Honorary Chairman for Hospice Cup XXX, America’s largest annual charity sailing event. Dr. Davies is the founder and CEO of Advanced Pain Management, a multidisciplinary pain management practice with locations in Maryland and Washington DC. He is on the Board of Directors for Hospice of the Chesapeake. The Hospice Cup regatta is scheduled for Saturday, September 24, on the Chesapeake Bay in Annapolis.
"I am delighted to serve as Hospice of the Chesapeake’s Honorary Chairman for the 30th anniversary of Hospice Cup," said Dr. Davies "Hospice Cup has provided tremendous support to Hospice of the Chesapeake over the course of the past thirty years and we are very excited to celebrate that long and successful legacy."
Entering its 30th year of racing on the Chesapeake Bay, Hospice Cup has raised more than $8 million to support Hospice programs in local communities in Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia. The post-race shore party will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Annapolis Sailing School in Annapolis, Maryland. The 2011 participating hospices are Hospice of the Chesapeake, Capital Caring, Chester River Home Care and Hospice, Montgomery Hospice and Talbot Hospice.
